The Players Store: Where Every Purchase Powers Your Favorite Pro
June 6, 2025Creating Space, Building Community, Changing Lives
At Throw Pink, we believe that disc golf is for everyone, and we're on a mission to prove it. Since our founding in 2013, we've been dedicated to growing women's participation in disc golf through thoughtfully designed events that celebrate female athletes while supporting an incredible cause: breast cancer prevention initiatives.
Our Story: From Small Beginnings to Big Impact
What started as a simple idea has blossomed into something truly special. Our signature event, traditionally held during the USDGC weekend, transforms what's typically a male-dominated week in disc golf into a celebration of women's potential and community spirit.
Picture this: women and girls of all skill levels gathering together, not as afterthoughts or token participants, but as the main event. Rain or shine (and yes, we've played through both!), our participants show up with enthusiasm and leave with something even more valuable a sense of belonging and community that keeps them coming back.
Why Women's Events Matter
There's something magical that happens when women step onto a course designed specifically for them. Away from the feeling of being secondary or out of place, participants discover what disc golf can truly offer:
- Confidence Building: That first good drive, the satisfying chain-out sound, the "aha!" moment when everything clicks
- Supportive Environment: Learning alongside other women who understand the unique challenges female athletes face
- Professional Guidance: Clinics led by touring professionals and local experts who are passionate about sharing their knowledge
- Lasting Connections: Friendships formed over shared flights and mutual encouragement
Beyond the Fairway: A Cause That Matters
Throw Pink feeds two birds with one seed we're building our disc golf community while raising crucial funds for breast cancer prevention initiatives. Every event, every participant, and every supporter contributes to research and programs that save lives. It's disc golf with purpose, and that purpose fuels everything we do.
The Ripple Effect
We've watched our community grow from those early rainy-day clinics to record-breaking events featuring custom-designed courses complete with miniature versions of famous holes. But the real growth isn't measured in numbers it's in the confidence of a first-time player, the leadership of women stepping into tournament directing roles, and the gradual shift in how our sport welcomes female participation.
Join the Movement
Whether you're a seasoned player looking to give back, a newcomer curious about the sport, or someone who simply believes in equality and community, there's a place for you in the Throw Pink family.

For Leaders: Consider how you can prioritize women's inclusion in your local disc golf community whether through dedicated events, league opportunities, or simply fostering a more welcoming atmosphere.
Looking Forward
Every time we see a young girl's eyes light up with that first perfect throw, we're reminded why this work matters. Yes, female athletes face unique challenges frustration, pushback, and feelings of inferiority that shouldn't exist in 2025. But through events like ours, we're not just teaching disc golf; we're building a foundation for the future.
The path forward isn't always clear, and there's no single right answer to growing women's participation in sports. But we know this: when women show up with enthusiasm and are greeted as equals, magic happens. That's the Throw Pink difference, and that's the future we're building together.
